PRE-GAME FESTIVAL AT 5:45 pm | GAME STARTS AT 7:00 pm
AVON LAKE HIGH SCHOOL
On April 14, 2026 our community will again come together to host the Harlem for a fundraising basketball game. Last year we had over 1200 participants and we expect this year to be just as big as this will be the last year for the game.
Community teachers, administrators and coaches will again face off against the Wizards in an evening dedicated to raising funds for our youth while fostering community spirit amongst families, local businesses and other community supporters.

This event is more than just a basketball game — it’s a chance to create lasting memories with your family while supporting our student-athletes and school programs.
Pre-Game Festival | 5:45 pm
Before the game, attendees immersed themselves in our pre-game festival! They enjoyed a variety of family-friendly activities, including:
- Games: Fun challenges for all ages
- Face Painting: Transform into your favorite character or superhero
- Concessions: Delicious snacks and drinks available for purchase
- An appearance by Shorty the Shoreman!
This festival was a fantastic opportunity to connect with friends, family and neighbors while supporting our schools.
WizKid Experience
Those who arrived early and purchased a Wizards jersey got to warm up on the court with the Wizards themselves!
The Game | 7:00 pm
The main event features the Harlem Wizards - known for their incredible athleticism and comedic flair - facing community teachers, staff and coaches. Attendees enjoyed:
- High-Flying Dunks: Jaw-dropping basketball skills
- Interactive Fun: Laughter and excitement with audience participation
- Meet & Greet: An opportunity to get autographs from the Wizards after the game
Family and friends enjoyed a night filled with laughter, competition, and community spirit! It was a unique opportunity to support our schools while having a blast!
Player Nominations
Community members had a chance to nominate their favorite teacher, administrator or school employee to put on shorts and a jersey and play in the game!

This event was about more than a basketball game. It was a unique chance to support Avon Lake during a critical moment. It was an opportunity to help ensure our students have continued access to activities that develop teamwork, leadership and personal growth and benefit our community for years to come.
